Venice Station Clock

Building of the Santa Lucia railway station began in 1860. In order to make room for both the station and its spectacular flight of steps to the entrance sadly resulted in the demolition of a convent and a the fine Church of Santa Lucia. The station indeed took up the name of this church and is one of a very few relatively modern constructions to face the famous Grand Canal.
