suffered as a result of the Great Fire. The map is particularly detailed as its scale is a large
6.5 inches to the mile. There are informative indices listing both missing and remaining properties.

Wenceslaus Hollar
The map pairs well with our Tudor London map offering a before and after comparison. The London Monument to the Great Fire by Sir Christipher Wren is the tallest isolated stone column in the world. Building was completed in 1677, and has just (2009) reopened after a major refurbishment. The Monument is 202 feet high and stands 202 feet from the spot in Pudding Lane where the Great Fire is said have started. 311 spiral steps take you to the top that affords spectacular vistas across the city.
