East Kirkcudbright - Map of the County of Kirkcudbrightshire
Engraved and published by William Blaeu Circa 1645
A rare map that is most engaging in its detail. Uncommonly there
is an ornate blank panel at the base. This would normally carry the
coat of arms and notes on a local nobleman. A subscription would
have been sought for its inclusion. Perhaps it was not forthcoming on
this occasion.
