The Chiltern Hills divides the County of Buckinghamshire into two, almost equal parts.
By 1610, when the map was produced the magnificent beech forests that used
to cover the whole of the Chilterns were cut back. The reason for |
this drastic action was that the forests concealed many thieves and vagabonds who
prayed on those bringing their sheep, pigs, cattle and geese to market in London
from their homes in Wales. |
Each map is carefully reproduced from the original and hand treated to achieve a unique and most realistic aged parchment effect to its appearance and texture. Your Complete Satisfaction is Guaranteed or Your Money Back |
